reputation
At Rocky Mountain Psychological Services, our work is grounded in a long history of supporting children and families, with roots dating back to 1996. Originally part of the Rocky Mountain Play Therapy Institute, RMPS has evolved into a practice known for its depth in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of complex presentations.
Over the years, we have developed particular strength in psychoeducational and diagnostic assessment, helping to bring clarity to situations that may be unclear, overlapping, or difficult to understand. Many families come to us when they are seeking more than surface-level answers—looking for a thoughtful and comprehensive understanding of their concerns.
In addition to clinical work, RMPS is involved in training and mentoring clinicians, reflecting an ongoing commitment to maintaining high standards of care. This combination of experience, depth, and continued learning shapes the way we support children, teens, and families at every stage.

reputation
For over twenty-five years, Rocky Mountain Psychological Services (RMPS) has developed a reputation as a leader in pediatric psychology services in the Calgary area. Our team of experienced psychologists and clinicians is dedicated to helping children and teens work through emotional, behavioral, and developmental challenges, supporting their growth into confident and successful young adults.
We understand that the childhood years can be difficult to navigate – we’re here to help! Did you know that working with children is a specialty and requires specific training? Children aren’t little adults and that’s why each of our staff completes specialized training for working with children and has expanded skills for evaluating a child’s development, behaviour, and factors that might be contributing to the reason for referral. Your child and family deserves to have an individualized plan that is grounded in research and tailored to each child’s unique needs. We’re here to help and offer child psychology services in the Calgary area (and beyond!) to address a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, ADHD, learning difficulties, and more.
We also recognize the vital role that parents and families play in working with children and families. Our services naturally extend to working with adults; we offer parenting support and counselling as well as comprehensive assessments for conditions such as ADHD, learning disabilities, and Autism. Additionally, we also offer services for youth transitioning to adulthood who may need assessments for post-secondary, AISH and PDD, as well as capacity assessments.
Our goal is to offer one-stop, wrap-around and specialized services for children and families in Calgary. We look forward to serving you and helping you and your child to take the next steps towards improved functioning in school, life, self-awareness, and in relationships. We offer both in-person sessions at our downtown Calgary clinic and secure telepsychology services available across Alberta, ensuring accessible, compassionate care for all who need it.
Elevate the well-being of children and families, and persistently strive to support them, shaping fulfilled lives for this generation and generations to come.
Your One-Stop Center for Complete Psychological Support
From Children to teens, and their families, we offer a full spectrum of clinical services designed to meet your unique needs. Whether it’s emotional, behavioral, developmental, or relational challenges, we’re here to help.

Using a neuroscience-informed approach, we help children regulate emotions, build self-confidence, navigate challenges, and gain new perspectives and skills through play, conversation, and creative expression

Therapeutic play helps children process complex feelings, learn and practice new skills, and develop coping strategies in a safe and supportive environment.

Focused on identity, emotions, and self-awareness, our teen therapy empowers adolescents to better understand their brains, manage stress, develop inter-personal and relationship skills, and build strong self-esteem

We partner with parents to create effective strategies, manage behavior, and improve family dynamics, supporting healthier relationships at home.

Our ADHD assessments identify attention-related challenges and provide practical strategies for school and home. We assess cognitive abilities, executive function, emotional regulation, and behavior to support accurate diagnosis and effective intervention.

Our gifted assessments evaluate cognitive abilities (IQ), to help families and schools better support high-performing learners. This type of assessment can be used to apply to specialized programs for gifted students.

Psychoeducational assessment can help to understand how a person learns (their cognitive profile), where their academic skills are at compared to their peers, and other factors that could be impacting them such as attention, anxiety, or social skills challenges. With this information, tailored recommendations are offered to support the person at home, at school, and in the community.

We offer capacity assessments to evaluate an individual’s ability to make informed personal, financial, or legal decisions, often required for guardianship or legal matters.

Our autism assessments provide diagnostic clarity by evaluating communication, sensory, and behavioral patterns to see if the child is meeting criteria for Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Train the brain to self-regulate which can be associated with iimproved focus, emotional stability, and cognitive performance through real-time feedback systems.
If you are concerned about your child’s development or wondering whether therapy or counselling would be beneficial at this stage, we invite you to schedule a free 15-minute consultation.
We can discuss your concerns, explain the process, and help you determine whether therapy or counselling is the right next step for your child.
We offer age-appropriate services (counseling, assessment, and alternative therapies like neurofeedback) to help children reach their potential cognitively, mentally, emotionally, and relationally. We help children to improve their functioning at home, school, and the places in between.
We offer age-appropriate services to ensure that a teen has the foundation they need (cognitively, mentally, emotionally and relationally) to reach their personal goals whether that is through counseling, formal assessment, family counseling, or alternative therapies like neurofeedback.
We help adults, caregivers, and parents improve communication, reduce stress, and develop tools for healthy family life. That can mean working directly with adults or parents, involving parents in their child’s therapy, or it could look like individual counseling for the adult/parent.
At RMPS, we believe in simplifying care for families. That’s why we offer a full range of integrated psychological services under one roof, from assessment to therapy and lots in between.
Our clinic is a welcoming space where clients of all ages can feel safe, heard, and supported as they grow.

Cassandra Hillman White is the Owner and Clinical Director of Rocky Mountain Psychological Services (RMPS). A Registered Psychologist with more than 30 years of experience, Cassandra works with children, adolescents, parents, and families facing a wide range of developmental, emotional, behavioural, learning, and mental health challenges. She is known for her thoughtful case conceptualization, collaborative approach, and commitment to helping families understand both the challenges they are facing and the path forward.
Cassandra’s career began working with children with special needs and their families throughout Central Alberta. From supporting parents in their homes to consulting with daycare and preschool programs, she developed a deep appreciation for the importance of relationships, developmental understanding, and practical strategies that families and educators can use in everyday life. These early experiences continue to shape her work today.
Throughout her career, Cassandra has pursued extensive training across multiple therapeutic approaches, allowing her to tailor treatment to each client’s unique needs. Her clinical background includes Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Synergetic Play Therapy, Jungian Sandplay, Neurofeedback, Adlerian Therapy, Adlerian Play Therapy, and the Play Therapy Dimensions Model. While she draws from a variety of evidence-informed approaches, Adlerian principles and play therapy frameworks have become particularly influential in her current work with children and families.
Cassandra believes that effective therapy begins with understanding the whole person. Rather than focusing solely on symptoms, she works collaboratively with clients and families to explore the factors contributing to current challenges, identify strengths, and develop meaningful goals. She values creating clear treatment plans that are reviewed and adjusted over time, ensuring clients remain active participants in their own growth and healing.
As Clinical Director, Cassandra leads a multidisciplinary team dedicated to supporting children, adolescents, and families across complex presentations, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, autism, learning difficulties, emotional regulation concerns, trauma, behavioural challenges, and family relationship difficulties. She also works closely with schools, physicians, allied health professionals, and community agencies to help families access coordinated and effective support.
In addition to her clinical work, Cassandra serves as President of the Council of the College of Alberta Psychologists and is a Canadian Certified Play Therapist. She brings her commitment to ethical practice, professional excellence, and lifelong learning into every aspect of her work.
Outside of the office, Cassandra enjoys spending time with her four adult children, exploring nature, travelling, and continuing to learn. Her curiosity about people and their stories remains at the heart of the work she has loved for more than three decades.
